Monday’s Postcard: Liverpool, England

Posted on 01. Jun, 2011 by in Destinations, Europe Travel, Photo Posts, United Kingdom

This week’s installment takes us to the surprising city of Liverpool, in Northern England. I admit having been there for only a couple of hours, but I would be happy to go back and the visit the city itself. I pretty much only stuck to the Beatles bus tour! Thanks, UK railways, for being 5 hours late!

The park pictured below is Strawberry Field in Liverpool, which was the name of the gardens where John Lennon used to play in as a kid. This sign is another living proof of just how popular The Beatles, and especially John Lennon, were then and are now. Dozens of tourists ride this Magical Mystery Tour just to get a glimpse of Lennon’s memories.

Have you ever seen Strawberry Field in Liverpool? Or followed the Beatles’ trail? What’s your favorite Beatles heritage piece?
