My Favourite Travel Photos

2011
02.02

I’ve been going through my travel photos pretty often lately. Winter blues? Wanderlust? Nostalgia? All of the above are accurate. Instead of writing another long post on why I hate travel bloggers, I decided to share my favourite photos from my own collection and spread the love.

While most of these pictures aren’t perfect on the technical side, they all represent something special for me and that’s what I want to share. To see my “portfolio”, check out my Flickr stream.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

NB: The following pictures do not feature actual people other than me. I have a ton of pictures with friends that make me smile everytime I look at them but I’m not sure they want to see their faces everywhere on the Intertubes.

***

Amsterdam canals, evening light

Amsterdam canals at night. Could it be any more romantic?

I don't like Guinness.

Brighton, beach, sunset, Brighton West Pier
It was the perfect end to a perfect day of sightseeing in Oxford and Brighton, followed by a The Sounds concert.

Trust me, after spending all winter in London, it's hard getting used to sunlight again. Taken at the Alhambra in Granada, Spain.

Hyde Park, tulips, spring, English Cottage

There's nothing like spring in London.

Touristy photo, but much better.

Hyde Park, London, Foutain, Sunset, Dusk

Afternoon light in Hyde Park. The light is just amazing, and so was the day. That's when I got engaged.

Nice, Monaco, beach, Côte d'Azur, French Riviera

The first time my feet met the sea. It was in Nice, France.

Gibraltar monkeys

Two baby monkeys in Gibraltar.

I LOVE the tulips in London! Also a big fan of the “touristy” photo at the merry-go-round in Paris: great set-up! Awesome photos :)

Love the photos! Especially the Gib monkeys-can’t believe you got this shot! They are so hard to catch standing still!

I got really lucky because I didn’t get much photos there other than this one. We were there after opening hours and had the place all to ourselves though, so maybe the monkeys were less excited.

Fabulous photos! The one of you on the carousel in front of the Eiffel Tower, AWESOME! Way to step outside the touristy box! Looks like you have had some amazing travels!

Just accidently came across your website, and I’m so happy to find another Europhile! My site is http://www.toeuropewithkids.com, which probably won’t interest you since you’re too young for kids, but that’s okay! I’m going to check out some of the other blogs on your blogroll. Love your photos!

Thanks for commenting my blog. And I like your websites, I have friends with kids who like to travel so I might just send them over to your website for tips ;)

Those are some really fantastic photos! I especially love your not liking Guinness face (I have a couple of me not liking oysters on my blog) and the spring in London photos!

  12. Marie says:

Thanks Connie! These photos are very precious to me, I’m glad you like that I hate Guinness, haha. :)
