Have you been to London so often you can’t stand the thought of standing besides Big Ben again? Does the sight of the London Eye make you want to weep in despair? Fret not, my London-phile friend. A city as big and dynamic as London simply cannot rely on tourist traps to strive. From the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf to historic buildings in Camden, the capital is full of surprises and questionable, off-the-beaten-track sights that will certainly renew the passion of those who feel like they have seen all that there is to see.

The video highlights a bunch of quirky places in London, but here are my favourites:

  • Arcadia Works in Camden
  • New London Architecture in Bloomsbury
  • Hyde Park in Kensington
  • The Shunt club at London Bridge (sadly it closed in 2010)
  • Traffic light tree in Canary Wharf
  • Trafalgar Square
  • Vauxhall Bridge
  • The Wellcome Collection in Bloomsbury
  • Old Kent Road in Bermondsey
  • The OXO Tower in Southwark
  • The castle pubs in Camden

I think my favorite has to be the traffic light tree, and the OXO Tower - both very innovative and original in their own right! There are so many new things on my to-do list now. I must remedy to that!

Have you been to any of these unusual places? What was your favorite? Do you have other quirky places to recommend?
