Rainy St. Paul’s, London - In Photos

To continue in the same tone of my most recent, and quite personal post, I decided to kick this week off by posting a shot from a late-night ride in a London double decker.

And why, but of course it was raining!

It is London in the summer that we are talking about. What else were you expecting? You wouldn’t be so naive as to expect more than a mere hours of sunshine in this fair city, now would you?

Definitely not the best photo composition-wise, but it reflects precisely how I feel about London right now. And it’s also a good example of London’s atmosphere during one of it’s all-too-frequent rainy night: gloomy,  almost eery, but mostly just soaking wet. I never even owned a raincoat before I moved to the capital in 2008 - and I have rarely worn it since I left in 2009!

I do love me a good, long ride on the tourist’s seat on a double decker bus. Truly one of the best ways to explore the city, and be shielded from the rain. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!

Never one to miss the train, so to speak, London knows how to work with what she got, and developed quite the array of activities for the rainy days: whether you opt for a movie, a play, a musical, a museum, a quirky café, a department store… there are so many ways to avoid dreary weather in this city, and still thoroughly enjoy yourself!

What’s your favorite thing to do in London when it rains? Do you prefer to stay in or brave the weather?
