Key Websites to Help You Plan Your Perfect British Adventure
Posted on 01. Mar, 2010 by Marie-Eve Vallieres in Europe Travel, Travel Tips, United Kingdom
As more and more travellers plan their journeys with the sole help of the world wide web, here are some key sites I used myself while I lived in London.
The Trainline
To get some discounts on train tickets.
Traveline
Great journey planner across the UK.
National Trust Britain - National Trust Scotland
Downloadable walks, itinerary ideas, green spaces and beautiful buildings.
Areas of Natural Outstanding Beauty
Pretty self-explanatory.
English Heritage
Significant and historical buildings. Look out for blue plaques.
BBC Weather
Even though nothing is more unpredictable than British weather.
Time Out
To know what is happening in London. Weekly editions.
Travelodge
Check out their regular sales with rooms at £19. They have hotels pretty much everywhere, which is great too.
Hostels UK
In case Travelodge is not having a sale.

My absolute best UK travel discovery when I lived there was Megabus and Megatrain. I lived in Portsmouth and if I booked my tickets in advance, I could go to london by train (1h22) for 1 pound! Incredible.
