Top Things To Do In Cantal

During my four days in Cantal, I’ve had the chance to experience all sorts of great things. Massages, great food, cute B&Bs, splendid scenery and more.

Here’s a map that lists what to do in Cantal, in my humble opinion. And that’s only a handful - there are in fact so many things to do you won’t want to leave!

My absolute favorites:

  • Les bains du Rouget: set in a beautiful valley, the spa offers gorgeous views of the area, and the soothing sound of the river nearby. There are many treatments available, as well as a large pool and jacuzzi.
  • Auberge de Concasty: Martine is one of the friendliest person I’ve ever met - and if that wasn’t enough, her cuisine will convince you. The inn is absolutely gorgeous, has large rooms and top notch customer service.
  • La ferme aux fromages: To learn more about the history of farming, the industrialization and of course, cheese tasting.
  • Restaurant le Bailliage: keyword here is mango salmon tartare. And I guess the chocolate fondant is not bad either.
  • Lac Saint-Étienne-Cantalès: one of the biggest lakes in the area, it also features a large and impressive dam, as well as a cute walking trail. Lots of sea sport facilities available.

Have you been to Cantal? What was your favorite thing to do in the area?
