Where to stay in Berlin: Hotel Concorde Berlin

Posted on 14. Dec, 2012 by in Destinations, Europe Travel, Germany, Reviews

Few things sound better to my ears than a luxurious 5* hotel in the heart of West Berlin. Add to that a raging snowstorm and freezing fingers, and I’m more than sold. Suffice to say that my experience at Hotel Concorde Berlin was more than positive, if only for the warm (and dry!) shelter it offered me for one night.

Hotel Concorde Berlin: The Location

The hotel is located in a very handy part of the city, close to many landmarks - e.g. Kurfürstendamm, Zoologischer Garten and Tiergarten, to name a few as well as famous upscale shopping avenues and several U-Bahn stations, making it very easy to get to, and a good base to explore the city.

Bonus point for being so close to the S-Bahn and therefore easily accessible from the Tegel Airport.

Hotel Concorde Berlin: The Hotel

The Hotel Concorde Berlin is the kind of hotel that will go out of its way to please its customers, and ensure they have a more than a simply enjoyable experience - it has to be the very best. From a warm welcome upon check-in to delicious delicacies in the room, to a handy porter service, not one detail is forgotten.

The hotel offers free WiFi throughout, a wellness area, a grandiose lobby, modern decor and an elegant atmosphere.

Also worth noting is the succulent buffet breakfast - rarely in my life have I seen such an expansive buffet, from freshly squeezed juice to warm dishes to several types of pastries. I got so overwhelmed by my meal that I even forgot to take a photo!

Is this the coolest Foursquare check-in ever, or what? I’m always up for champagne, especially in such a lovely setting. And indeed, I did enjoy it very much. It was a lot of fun to sip delicious champagne in a busy bar while watching the snow fall over the neighborhood. Magical!

Hotel Concorde Berlin: The Rooms

I was assigned a very, very spacious Deluxe room on the 9th floor of the hotel -  so spacious, in fact, I think the room may have been larger than my first apartment. No kidding. 50 meters of pure luxury for my own enjoyment.

All the rooms are fully equipped with walk-in closets, free WiFi  free welcome delicacies, satellite TV, 24 hour room service, mini-bar and fluffy bathrobes, as well as organic toiletries and a heated bathroom floor.

Hotel Concorde Berlin

I won’t come as a surprise that I thoroughly and intensely enjoyed my stay at Hotel Concorde Berlin - it’s hard to not enjoy this kind of luxurious, flawless experience. What is hard, however, is returning to the outside world where these small attentions aren’t expected.

While I noticed that most of the hotel’s guests were businessmen, I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t make a perfect base for a romantic weekend getaway or even a family vacation - whether for the hotel’s enviable location or a well-deserved pampering, stress-free hotel stay.

The Hotel Concorde Berlin does not disappoint, and is well worth every single one of the (admittedly many) euros spent on one night there. My only regret is that I didn’t get to spend more time there - but not to worry. I will be back. That is a promise!

Disclaimer: I was a guest of Hotel Concorde Berlin. As always, all opinions are my own.
